Happy Birthday Friendie!

    Yes I'm a die-hard Tiffa&Cloud fan, but this picture was just so sweet, I had to put it on here.
So for those of you who don't know what this picture is; The hand on the left is Cloud's and the hand on the right is Aerith's.   I don't own this picture, but who ever made it was amazing! Its very calm, and beautiful. Don't you think?

So any ways, I just wanted to say happy birthday to my friendie. He doesn't really have a way of checking my blog out, but I'm saying happy birthday anyways :D And that picture I found, made me think of him. Because he likes yellow flowers, and I like final fantasy, so it all kind of worked out :P

Avengers!

  Aw yeah! Yesterday night we went and saw the Avengers! It was totally AWESOME!!! Lots of action and battles. And the characters were really well developed. My favourite character was...Hawkeye, I'd have to say. Because I love archery myself (yeah, our homeschool group had a few archery classes :D). But he was also really cool. I also like Captain America/Chris Evens xD, though I like Chris Evens better as Johny Storm (the Human Torch); reason, he's more HOTTER as Johny xD. LOL    Anyways, to tell the truth, I really liked the whole cast, they did an amazing job!
  It was just as good as I had hoped, better actually. The director of the Avengers was also the director of the Buffy the Vampire Slayer TV series. He did a grrrrreat job! xD
   You must go see it! It's a must, more then you should go see Hunger Games or Twilight. :D

Freshwind

No it isn't a fancy word for fart :P Freshwind is an awesome Youth Convention up in Toronto. In which I was able to go.

  And whoa...Let me just say, that was amazing! So yeah, its a Christian thing, with really brings you close to God and stuff. I loved it! There were like three or four really awesome bands, and pounding music. The speakers were great as well. The only problem was it we only three days long! :'(

And yeah, I'm a Christian, and I'm proud to be one. Don't worry though :P I didn't make this blog to preach to you guys. :D

Movie Summery; In a not-too-distant future, North America has collapsed, weakened by drought, fire, famine, and war to be replaced by Panem, a country divided into the Capitol and 12 districts. Each year two young representatives from each district are selected by lottery to participate in The Hunger Games. Part entertainment, part brutal intimidation of the subjugated districts, the televised games are broadcast throughout Panem. The 24 participants are forced to eliminate their competitors, literally, with all citizens required to watch. When 16-year-old Katniss' young sister, Prim, is selected as the mining district's female representative, Katniss volunteers to take her place. She and her male counterpart Peeta, will be pitted against bigger, stronger representatives who have trained for this their whole lives.

   Well...That was...Eeeeeeggh.
   I'm going to be as kind as I can, please forgive me if this turns into a rant.
   I think they did a good job with the settings and the castings for the tributes. Jennifer Lawrence did an okay job as Katniss, because I understand it can be a hard roll to play. Josh Hutcherson could have done better. Liam was good...he didn't really say much though. Willow Shields (Primrose Everdeen) did a good job with her part.
   So to me, it seemed really rushed. They cut and changed so much from the book, it was very disappointing. I think if you didn't read the books you would be lost for half of it.
   First of all, the muttations? Those dogs at the end? What the heck?! They were cool and all, but they were supposed to look like the dead tributes. Did they? No. I admit the way they brought it in was cool too, but...
   Now...Rue's death. People were crying and I was all like...WHAT? THAT'S IT? Basically Katniss teams up with Rue, they talk, they sleep, they make a plan, they complete the plan, Rue dies. They should have played that out a bit more! Why are we supposed to feel sorry for this girl she met and hung around for two whole days? I didn't feel any connection. Plus, the romance? That was horrible! They kissed like twice. Star-crossed lovers my butt.
   I think you should watch the movie yourself. Don't take my word for it. Just because it disappointed me, doesn't mean it will disappoint you. My expectations were too high, because I have an over-active imagination, when it comes to books. Which made it hard to enjoy the movie like I did the books.
   Don't get me wrong, I'd watch it again, but as a fan of the books I was disappointed. I feel sorry for the fans who were living for the movie to come out.

My Rating;

Three Lightning Bolts out of five.

Interesting fact; The Hunger Games TRILOGY is being made into FOUR movies. How they plan on pulling that off, I'm not quite sure.

So yeah...I'm hoping they do better for the second movie. They better pick someone good for Finnick.

   This guy doesn't actually sing it, the four voices belong to talented guys from Mousebutter. But he is super entertaining! His shirts are Awesomeness! You can actually buy some of them online, soo cool!! XD
   Just so you know, John Williams (is the man! XD) is a composer. He did the songs in Star Wars saga, Jaws, Superman, Indiana Jones saga, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial,  Hook, Jurassic Park, Schindler's List, Home Alone and the first three Harry Potter films. That explains why Corey in the video there, used some of the tunes, clicking together now??

   Aoife's family is unique in the worst way. Her mother and her older brother, Conrad, both went mad on their sixteenth birthdays. And now, a ward of the state nearing her own sixteenth birthday, Aoife is trying to pretend that her fate can be different.

  So first off what a name right? Aoife...Type it into Google Translate and hit the speak button, it sounds funny XD

Anyways. I loved this book! The world was amazing! I'd describe the book as a Victorian/Steam-Punk sort of book. Aoife is some one I could defiantly relate to. With the society pushing her to be a "proper lady". She receives a letter crying for help from her brother, and she takes off to help him. Even though he could be crazy.
The only things I didn't enjoy from this book were; It's slightly hard to understand in the beginning. But the author had her own way of describing things, and I respect that. Secondly, the romance didn't come fast enough. Now I know Aoife was scared of becoming mad and all, but I'm a sucker for romance (though I seldom admit it).
The love interest was Dean Harrison. I really liked his character (again that might be because of my romantic interest liking XD). He was smart and he was funny. You could tell That Aoife and Dean were going to end up together, but it took awhile. Cal, Aoife's faithful best friend was also a great character. He loved Aoife, and wanted to keep her safe. Although he was also, like society, trying to make her a good lady like woman. I think that's also why I liked Dean, he respected Aoife, and treated her as an equal.
Aoife has these powers, she calls Weirds. And helps save/begin the destruction of the Iron world.
This book had alot of imagination behind it and it's defiantly something I'd read again, and I encourage you to read it.

Lazzzer Tag!!

  Yuppers! Yet again my youth group has dragged me out to Laser Questing all night long! I love it soo much! You get soo pumped! The place we went was in Ottawa. There floors and it's almost a maze.

It was totally awesome!! I came in second place for one of thirteen games. My new personal best XD

I can't wait till next year! Let me just say I felt like a stormtrooper, or a super bad-donkeyed spy holding the gun and listening to pulsing music. Sooo Awesome! I'm still pumped!

   But I've got to go to bed XD. It's like 8:30 in the morning and we just got back :)

♥ Valentines Day ♥

 Happy Valentines Day!
   Now, I wouldn't say I'm totally in love with Valentines Day. Because I'm not. I'm pretty sure it's just a "special day" for that "special someone", because greeting card companies needed more money.
   I'm not saying it's bad to tell someone that you love 'em. But why would you wait till Valentines Day to do it? I mean you can buy your sweetheart flowers and chocolates and cards(oh my!)any day of the year. *Sigh*

    Anyways since I don't have a "special someone" I'm going to name all my favourite Book Boys. I know you think I'm replacing my true love with someone fictional. But hey I'm, like, fifteen, give me a break!

So with no particular order here I go!

10. Peeta Mellark. The Hunger Games. 
The boy with the bread. I really liked Peeta as a character, he was really nice, and he really did love Katniss. He's defiantly someone on my list. (And yes, I did put a fan drawn picture on here, not a picture of Blonde Josh Hutcherson)

9. Gale Hawthorne. The Hunger Games.

Okay, compared to Peeta, Gale is... Down right Awesome. I really really like him as a character. Everyone says he only wanted Katniss after he saw her and Peeta together, but I don't think that's true. I think he liked Katniss waay before that, and when he said that they should run, was when he was mustering up the courage to finally do something. I might be wrong but that's what I see. Poor Gale :'(

8. Finnick Odair. Also The Hunger Games.

Hey Suzanne Collins is a good writer :P I may like Gale and Peeta, but I love Finnick. True he got married to a crazy woman, but it's so sweet. He loves her with everything he's got. I love the jokes he makes. I HATE how he dies... May he rest in peace :'(

7. Iggy. Maximum Ride.

He's got wings, and he's blind. He is soo funny, and he can make bombs how cool is that? Kay, but really he's an awesome character and the manga books of Max Ride made me like him even more!

6. Fang. Maximum Ride.

He has wings. And yes in that picture he has long hair, but don't let that fool you, it is a guy XD He's totally awesome/annoying. He had me crying in book six. (I'm not gonna say why, you'll have to read it :P)

5. Astley. The Need Series.

Unfortunately there is no fan made pictures of Astley. He's a pixie from the Need series. No, not the tiny cute pixies that fly around and keep the flowers pretty. The type of pixies who are evil, and blue, with sharp teeth, and are relatively the same size as humans, but they live much longer. Only difference is Astley isn't evil. Although he does want the main character Zara, to marry him. Which she finds utterly horrid, but I find cute. He really does like her, he likes her enough to help her find her missing were-wolf boyfriend, whom I don't really like (not after Astley came :P).

4. Four/Tobias. Divergent.

There isn't any fan made drawings (I don't use real people as an excuse for book characters :P) of poor Four either. Which is totally crazy considering he's such an awesome character. He wasn't the type of guy who got the girl in the first three pages she meets him. But I liked him before, Tris, the main character liked him. :P He wasn't the type of guy who was totally "the man". He had fears and he's fine with Tris knowing that. Plus Tris saves his butt, and he knows it XD

3. Joseph, or Seph Mccauley. The Heir Series.

He is my favourite character through in the Heir Series, even though he comes in like the second book XD He's like super powerful, but he doesn't let it get to his head. He was stuck in a school run by an eeevil guy who was mentally torturing Seph into joining his group, but Seph didn't cave. I think I might like him cause of his super awesomeness, but you can't blame me for liking someone for who he is :P

2. Percy Jackson. The Percy Jackson & The Olympians Series.

Son of Poseidon, or Neptune, take your pick. And totally cool. He can control water. Whaaat? XD Anyways the movie did okay with they're actor for him, but in my very imaginative mind, Percy was alot better :D Heh, Heh.

1. Galen Nexx. Hunted. [Picture coming soon.]

He's a rebel XD. Jk... well only alittle. Anyways. I really like his character...Because well...he's my character. XD Yeah, I'm writing a book.

Homeschooling Rocks!

   I love being homeschooled! I totally prefer it over public and/or other types of schools.

...

And yes, I have been to a "real" school before, and yeah, sure, it was fine...if you like being contained in a classroom for eight hours. But that's just not my cup'o'tea.

    Some people think that because I'm homeschooled I need to have things explained to me..."Soccer is a sport that involves your feet not your hands", "You do know pi is 3.14, right?", "Is your DNA messed up or something? You seem to have the wrong jeans on." Now most of my replies are something along the lines of "Yes that's why in Britian and Australia they call it 'foot'ball.", "Yes I know that pi is 3.1415926535 8979323846 2643383279 5028841971...Oh! You left...", "No my Deoxyribonucleic Acid is not messed up, but that you for admiring my genes." But it still gets annoying sometimes...

    There's this awesome video on YouTube called the Seven Lies About Homeschooling... It's hilarious!

   I love this guy's facial expressions! And how his eyebrows twitch. XD

   I admitt it, I do wear my PJ's during my schooling hours, sometimes. It's fun. :)
